About Me

He received his Bachelor of Music degree at the University Of Santo Tomas Conservatory Of Music. He is a core member of the UST Guitar Quartet and The UST Guitar Ensemble.

As a student, He’s first major stint was the performance of Vivaldi’s Guitar Concerto in D major with the UST Chamber Orchestra – part of the Symphony Orchestra concert of the UST Summer Music Camp 1996 held at Malaybalay, Bukidnon. On the same year, he performed Giuliani’s Guitar Concerto in A major with the UST Symphony Orchestra at the St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Tagbilaran, Bohol.

He participated in major guitar competitions in the Philippines such as NAMCYA Solo Guitar Competitions (circa ‘96 and ‘99). He also joined in the 1996 Guitar Concerto competition sponsored by The Embassy of Spain where Mario-Castelnuovo Tedesco’s “Guitar Concerto in D major” was the contest piece.

As member of the UST Guitar Quartet, the group’s major concert performances include: “Concerto Andaluz” by Joaquin Rodrigo at the CCP Little Theater; “Guitars Galore” also held at the CCP; and, Paco Park Presents “UST Guitar Ensemble Concert”.

As a recitalist, He performed Giulio Regondi’s Guitar Works (Nov. 2006) and “Alvin Salenga: Guitar Recital” (Sep 2007) as part of a year-round Faculty Concert Series. On Dec. 2007, he performed in a concert entitled "Guitar Duo", with fellow faculty member,  Alberto Mesa. His most recent Solo and Chamber Music performance was “Paco Park Presents” a TV program for classical artists held on 2008. He performed along with Ms. Thea Perez-Procia (soprano) and Mr. Leo Nebrija Jr. (guitarist). The concert include performances of Filipino folk songs “Kundiman” and Filipino Solo Guitar Compositions by Bernardino Custodio, Angel Penya & Bayani De Leon.

He is a Faculty member of the UST Conservatory of Music where he teaches classical guitar performance. He is also an affiliate of the Clarion Chamber Music Ensemble, (with Mr. David Johnson and Ms. Hyunjoo Lee as musical directors), a group of chamber  musician(s), dedicated in giving series of concerts in the Philippines. His further educational studies includes a course in Classical Guitar Performance at the Elisabeth University of Music (EUM) in  Hiroshima, Japan (2004-2006) with Norio Sato as his Guitar Professor. He was a Scholarship Grantee of Heiwa Nakajima Foundation (HNF), a private organization in Tokyo. While in Hiroshima, he actively participated in a number of guitar competitions in Japan.And of Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, Wales were He focuses on classical performance as concert artist under Graham Anthony Devine.

He specialises in Classical Guitar and Rock Guitar methods for ABRSM, Trinity and Rockschool International Guitar Examinations, respectively. And during the span of his career at Mirath Art Center LLC, He has produced original works for Classical Guitar Ensemble.
